There is something very special about The Place... Aside from being an upscale shopping mall with brand name stores, cafes and restaurants, it has one very unique feature. Right in the middle, above the open central axis is the largest LDE screen in Asia! Lightening up with colorful designs that move under musical notes and even projecting the news... It is a fascinating sight at night!
Lady Street is an authentic Chinese market for clothing, electronics, shoes and so on... pretty much anything you want. It is not as crazy as Hongqiao Pearl Market and the sellers don't seem so eager to pull you into their store but you can still bargain and find some good prices. The best feature for the ex-pats, not so relevant for tourists, is the flower market - a huge green house filled with beautiful flowers. So charming!

The less than a mile stretch showcases restored traditional houses now featuring charming boutique shops of arts and crafts, a huge variety of street food, nice small cafes and restaurants, along with an exciting bar scene. That is probably the most attractive to tourists feature of Wangfujing as it is one of the very few places where you can see scorpions, bugs and baby chicks on a stick along with other delicacies western eyes have probably never seen at home.
